![]() I think, either make it able to be played on an older version, or make an easy medium or hard mode that are the older, slightly newer, then newest versions. Because frankly, this game just doesn't seem fun anymore.Įverything is pretty much intuitive - within minutes you have a pretty good idea what you have to do - collect resources and build tools and platforms in a simple and straightforward way. Resin, compund, oxygen and power are primary and critical resources. Tethers provide oxygen but power is always scarce. It was a luxury when they brought in infiinite digging power, but it felt like a bit of a cheat at the time. The process is incremental but predictable. There are things I miss from later builds, such as auto placing of tethers (not a biggie) and infinite digging. But I actually think it's better this way. The random nature of seeds/fruits could get very annoying, so it certainly wasn't always better in 'the good old days'. If they get rid of all those surface rocks and allow a road building tool, I'll definititely give the new builds another try. Exploring for a purpose (and maybe building an advanced base by collecting specific hard-to-find parts in wrecks) should be the long term goal in Astroneer, IMO.Īnyway, it's good to know that I can play pretty much any build of Astroneer. Repetitive planets, with a forced story if you want to reach the center of the galaxy. ![]() Nothing like the original concept.Īnd you're free to entirely avoid any multiplayer interactions as usual.
